I
grew up in the village of Thorpe-le-Soken, Essex. In the way that the past
becomes a mythical time, so has my life in the village. I have tried to recreate
the feelings that I have of home through images past and present that have
been compiled by the village historian, linking my past to the past of the
place in which I spent the formative years of my life.
The Tea Series is also a representation of quintessential Britain, through
the images of teabags and tealadies. The tradition of tea transcends all the
diverse population. To be British is to appreciate tea.
